What we collect, why, and how to delete it.

Plain English. No dark patterns. If you signed up for the early-bird list or used the deadline calculator, this page tells you what happens with the data you gave us.

01Who we are

lien-radar is operated by Magpie Labs Ltd. We’re building a TX/FL mechanic’s lien deadline calculator and statutory notice generator for construction subcontractors. This privacy notice covers everything the lien-radar product touches.

02What we collect from you

Only what the product needs to do its job:

  • Email address — when you sign up for the early-bird list or submit the calculator form.
  • Project facts — state, last work date, claim amount, project address, owner/GC name, and similar fields you type into the calculator. These never leave our database unless you choose to download a filled statutory notice (deferred until Stripe opens).
  • Usage analytics — page views, click events, and a session identifier. We don’t collect mouse movements, scroll heatmaps, or keystroke recordings.
  • Standard server logs — IP address, browser type, and the URL you came from. Used for rate-limiting and debugging, not for ad retargeting.

03Why we collect it

  • Deliver the filing chain. When downloads open (post-Stripe), we email the un-watermarked PDF to the address you gave us. One email per purchase.
  • Honor the early-bird rate. If you signed up for the $79 founding-rate list, we email you once when the chain bundle opens. That’s it — no drip sequence, no newsletter, no upsell campaign.
  • Make the calculator better. Anonymous usage analytics tell us which fields confuse users and which deadlines get computed most often. Aggregated only.

04Who we share it with

We use third-party infrastructure to run the site. They process your data on our behalf only:

  • Supabase — database hosting (US-East region). Stores email + calculator submissions.
  • Vercel — web hosting. Sees the server logs but not your form data outside of routing it to Supabase.
  • PostHog — analytics. Reverse-proxied through /ingest so no third-party tracking pixels load on the page. We collect events, not personally identifiable browsing history.
  • Stripe — when payments go live (Round 2), Stripe processes the transaction. We never see or store full card numbers.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your email with marketing partners. We do not run ad-retargeting pixels.

05How long we keep it

  • Early-bird list emails: deleted 30 days after the chain bundle launches, or sooner if you ask. Each launch email contains a one-click unsubscribe link.
  • Calculator submissions: deleted automatically after 30 days unless you complete a purchase, in which case we keep the record for 7 years to meet construction-record-retention norms.
  • Server logs: rotated out at 90 days.

06Your rights

You can ask us to do any of these at any time:

  • See what data we have on you.
  • Delete your record (we’ll comply within 30 days unless we’re legally required to retain it for tax or construction-records purposes).
  • Correct anything inaccurate.
  • Opt out of analytics tracking (we honor the browser DNT header and any future Global Privacy Control signal).

Send the request to help@draftlabs.org. Reply within 30 days, usually within a week.

07California, Texas, Florida specifics

If you’re a California resident, you have the rights described in CCPA/CPRA (access, delete, correct, opt-out of sale — we don’t sell, so the third is moot). Texas residents have the same rights under TDPSA (effective July 2024). Florida residents have the same rights under FDBR (effective July 2024) for businesses meeting the threshold.

Same email address routes all requests: help@draftlabs.org.

08Children

lien-radar is built for licensed construction professionals. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think we have, write us at the email above and we’ll delete the record.

09Changes to this notice

We’ll bump the date at the top of this page when we change anything material. If we make a change that broadens what we collect or share, we’ll email the early-bird list before it takes effect.
